Superior Tuning Performance
Parallel Pipelined frequency detection PT2 measures the frequency of all six strings simultaneously.
This yields to a improved tuning performance and eliminates errors caused by crosstalk between the strings.
The accepted frequency range per string was increased widely which made it possible to accept every thinkable low tuning.
The dimensions of the roboheads where reduced dramatically. The volume was more than halved.
The weight had been reduced to 33 grams. There is no need to clutch /declutch the roboheads before manual tuning any longer.
PT2 utilizes stepper motors instead of dc motors. This leads to a superior speed an accuracy. PT2 roboheads are capable of changing the frequency by 5 halftones per second.
Charging could take place in every operation mode (except of Piezo Out). No charging mode has to be involved. There is no need of an emergency charging mode any longer because ring 2 is connected to the charge pin. Even if the battery is completely dead it could be recharged without a problem.
Simplified Charging / Optimized Power Consumption
PT 2 has 14 internal switches to activate/deactivate components according to the selected operating mode. In this way we spend just the energy for the essential components.
Master Control Knob
The key to controlling the powerful functions of the Dark Fire is the Master Control Knob (MCK), which has been completely redesigned with much improved ergonomics and a sophisticated full color matrix display featuring LEDs and high-tech light pipe technology, all to deliver a more powerful and easier to see visual display under any light condition. In addition to the MCK's top mounted display, LED-lit symbols now adorn its outer edge, which blend with the color of the knob so that they're only visible when lit. The Dark Fire's new MCK also controls the ability to change pickups and coils, allowing you the ability to adjust tone and tunings automatically and simultaneously, even several times during the same song.
